1989
Jane Schofield leaves Beavers for Falkland Islands - Jean North Assistant Beaver Leader. David Hewitt receives Queen's Scout Award. Venture Unit Summer Camp in Guernsey. Fund raising events during the year included Barbecue and Treasure Hunt, Las Vegas Evening, Table Top Sale and Lottery.

1988
January: Beaver Colony started - boys 6 to 8 - Jane Schofield and Pam Wright Leaders. David Hewitt (Chairman of the Venture Unit) selected as one of only two from Essex to go to Nepal with "Sherpa 88".
August: Scout Summer Camp - Essex International Jamboree: Venture Unit Summer holiday on Norfolk Broads.
September: Second Cub Pack re-started with Bob Hempstead and Mick Rayner as Leaders - Herons and Hawks Cub Packs.

1987
August: Scout Summer Camp at Broadstone Warren in East Sussex with the Rayne Scouts. Venture Scout Expedition to Peak District. Saturday morning entertainment in the H.Q. initiated as a fund-raising event. The scheme ran for over a year.

1986
May: A Sponsored Historical Walk of Coggeshall starting and finishing at the H.Q.
September: A Party was held in the H.Q. to celebrate 21 years of Scouting in Coggeshall and 10 years in the H.Q. with over 90 people attending. Bob Baker resigns as Group Scout Leader to take on the role of Braintree District Commissioner and is replaced by Peter Lewis. Les Wild takes over the running of the Scout Troop and Kevin Mecklenburg the Venture Unit .

1985
May: Scout H.Q. land bought for £14,000 by Scout Group to save land being developed for housing. Money raised through fund-raising by Scouts and Guides (waste paper, pig roasts etc.) a number of grants, some loans and a very generous donation. Kestrels Scout Patrol come first in District Marathon.
June: Another Pig-Roast held at Pointwell Mill.
August: Scout and Venture Scout Camp held at Guernsey and meet up with Robert Plumley ex. Scout Leader who now lives and works on the Island. The two Cub Packs amalgamated.

1984
May: Scouts Falcons Patrol won District Marathon and the Eagles Patrol won the Baden-Powell Trophy for finishing "Runners up" and "Best Log" in the County Marathon.
June: Pig Roast held the George and Dragon - despite rain £385 raised.
August: Scout Camp Essex International Jamboree.

1983
Denis Abram takes over running of Brecon Beacons Cub Pack.
May: Scouts Woodpeckers Patrol win District Scout Marathon.
June: Mid-Summer Pig Roast held at Coggeshall Hamlet and raised £550.
August: Scout and Venture Scout Summer Camp held in Luxembourg. A two year extension of Lease for H.Q. land agreed at a rent of £500 per annum.

1982
John Lashmar takes over the running of the Black Mountain Cub Pack.
August: Scout Summer Camp in the Black Forest area of Southern Germany as part of an Essex County Camp.
November: Venture Unit reformed and named Legend Venture Unit. 10 year lease on Scout and Guide H.Q. land expires - negotiations started for extension of lease or possible purchase of site.

1981
February: A Scout and Guide Gang Show staged at Honywood School over two evenings featuring all sections of the Scouts and Guides.
May: Scouts finish in first four places in District Marathon.
July: Best Overall Float in Coggeshall Carnival for Float named "What the Dickens" and Brecon Beacons Cub Pack come joint first in District Sports Day.
August: Scout Summer Camp at Buckmore Park, Kent.
December: Scouts and Guides take part in first ever Christmas Card Delivery Scheme shortly after law altered to allow organisations other than the Royal Mail to deliver post for a fee.

1980
May: H.Q. Management Committee discontinued replaced by Scout and Guide Management Committee. Scouts finished 1st and 2nd in District Marathon and Eagles Patrol finished in "Top Ten" in County Marathon.
August: Scouts attend 9th Essex International Jamboree.
