Legend Explorer Scout Unit

Introduction

Explorers Scouts are in Coggeshall as the Legend Explorer Scout Unit. This unit is not part of Coggeshall Scout Group but have a 'Partnership Agreement' with them.

Legend Explorer Scout Unit is part of Braintree Explorer Scouts, so you'll see us wearing a different scarf to the Coggeshall guys.

Explorer Scouts are young people usually aged between 14 and 18 years old. We meet every Friday 7:30-9:00pm during term time, at the Coggeshall Scout Hut.

Face This term we are hoping the Explorer raise to the challenge and raise over £490 for the ShelterBox charity. Providing shelter for dis-placed people around the world.

  • Young ShelterBox Challenge - Requiring 10 different challenges to be completed within 2010
    ShelterBox provide cover and protection to families displaced by disaster. To assist with the great work ShelterBox do, we are looking to raise £490 to purchase a new complete box
  • The Essex Challenge 2010 - Requiring 12 different challenges to be completed within 2010

Young Leader Training

Coggeshall Ledgends currently have 8 registered Young Leaders, helping out at Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Throughout the next year we are expecting to get most of these through all their required training and move them towards finishing the missions.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

Duke of Edinburgh Award Several Legends Explorers will be taking part in DofE this year, working towards finishing their Bronze awards.

Activity Tops

We are currently working with Braintree District Explorers to come up with a standard activity top for all BDES. You can see how we are getting on by looking at the following link.

Green Footprint Award

We have been awarded the Silver Award as part of the Green Footprint Award.
This makes Legend ESU one of the very first Scout Sections in Essex to complete this part of the award.
